Neml, 27/40:
وَمَنْ شَكَرَ فَاِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهٖ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَاِنَّ رَبّٖى غَنِىٌّ كَرٖيمٌ
"Şükreden ancak kendisi için şükretmiş olur, nankörlük edene gelince, o bilsin ki, Rabbimin hiçbir şeye ihtiyacı yoktur, çok kerem sahibidir."
"Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul: and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). For lo! my Lord is Absolute in independence, Bountiful."
Nahl, 16/112:
وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ اٰمِنَةً مُطْمَئِنَّةً يَاْتٖيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِنْ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِاَنْعُمِ اللّٰهِ فَاَذَاقَهَا اللّٰهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ
"Allah, (ibret için) bir ülkeyi örnek verdi: Bu ülke güvenli, huzurlu idi; ona rızkı her yerden bol bol gelirdi. Sonra onlar Allah'ın nimetlerine karşı nankörlük ettiler. Allah da onlara, yaptıklarından ötürü açlık ve korku sıkıntısını tattırdı."
"Allah coineth a similitude: a township that dwelt secure and well content, its provision coming to it in abundance from every side, but it disbelieved in Allah's favours, so Allah made it experience the garb of dearth and fear because of what they used to do."
